The Big Show vs. Cody Rhodes Championship

Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes vs. Big Show

Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes will have to back up his words on April 1 in Miami. On that day, he’ll find out if Big Show truly is a WrestleMania bust - as he has professed time and time again - when he attempts to defend his illustrious title against the angry giant on The Grandest Stage of Them All.

For weeks, Rhodes has taunted Big Show over his win/loss record at The Show of Shows. He dubbed the giant the “Reverse Undertaker,” going on to ridicule several of the former World Heavyweight Champion's matches. He mocked Show's Sumo Match loss to grand champion Akebono at WrestleMania 21, as well as his defeat at the hands of Floyd “Money” Mayweather, one of the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world, at WrestleMania 24.

Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan World Heavyweight Championship

World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan vs. Sheamus

As he’s done repeatedly over the course of his World Heavyweight Championship reign, Daniel Bryan once again found a way to walk out of a WWE arena with his title in hand Sunday night at WWE Elimination Chamber. In a sadistic stipulation where the odds of winning are 6-to-1 for each of the competitors involved and only get worse if competitors enter the Elimination Chamber sooner, the submission specialist overcame The Great Khali, Cody Rhodes, Wade Barrett, Big Show and Santino Marella to retain his title and send him on a collision course with Royal Rumble winner Sheamus at WrestleMania XXVIII.

After the brutal Elimination Chamber Match ended, Sheamus — who is guaranteed the title opportunity of his choosing at The Show of Shows thanks to his Royal Rumble Match victory — arrived and delivered an emphatic message to Daniel Bryan. With a punishing maneuver that slammed the champion to the mat, Sheamus ended all speculation as to what title he has in his sights come WrestleMania.

CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho wwe champion

WWE Champion CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho

During his rise to WWE Champion, CM Punk blasted the WWE establishment every step of the way. Even the very McMahon family name was not safe from his verbal barbs. His blistering and often shocking criticisms created a buzz that had not been seen in the WWE Universe in quite some time. The Second City Saint proved he could achieve success by doing things his way.

But is The Straightedge Superstar really the best in the world at what he does? Not if you ask Chris Jericho, who will face Punk on The Grandest Stage of Them All.

Certainly Jericho presents one of Punk’s greatest challenges to date. The recently returned Superstar has 22 championships to his credit – 30 if you include his title wins in WCW and ECW.

On top of his accomplished resume, Jericho brings a fire within that perhaps Punk has yet to encounter while defending the coveted WWE Championship. Not only is Jericho back in WWE, he’s angry.

In the Raw Elimination Chamber Match, Punk knocked Jericho out with a kick to the back of the head, rendering him unable to compete any further in the match. And at the end of the night, Jericho delivered a scathing account of what went down in an exclusive backstage interview

Undertaker vs. Triple H with Shawn Michaels

The Undertaker vs. Triple H (Hell in a Cell Match with special referee Shawn Michaels)

At WrestleMania XXVIII, two of the most decorated figures in WWE history, The Undertaker and Triple H, will engage in battle once more – this time, inside the diabolical Hell in a Cell and with Shawn Michaels as special guest referee.

After initially resisting The Deadman’s challenge to a WrestleMania rematch – dismissing it as bad for business – WWE COO Triple H has finally relented. If The Game succeeds in his years-long quest to end The Undertaker’s closely guarded WrestleMania Streak, he will have achieved the ultimate victory, to the perhaps-irreparable detriment of the esteemed Undertaker “brand.”

Adding a wrinkle to this match is the involvement of HBK as referee. Can Mr. WrestleMania - a Superstar who has lengthy histories with both Triple H and The Undertaker - be trusted to officiate the match objectively?

THE Rock vs. John Cena Match

John Cena vs. The Rock

Few could have anticipated that two of sports-entertainment’s most celebrated icons would ever meet in the squared circle, let alone on The Grandest Stage of Them All. Yet, the WWE Universe will bear witness to this blockbuster collision on Apr. 1, 2012 – one year after The Cenation Commander-in-Chief and “The Most Electrifying Man in All of Entertainment” agreed to battle in a dream match for the ages.

Following a seven-year absence, The Rock returned to WWE in characteristically grand fashion in early 2010 to host WrestleMania XXVII. Although The People’s Champion was overjoyed to be reunited with his millions – and millions – of fans at long last, he was quick to take aim at Cena, sparking a very public war of words with his fellow multi-time World Champion.

Cena and The Rock forged an unstable alliance to combat The Awesome Truth – an outspoken tandem consisting of The Miz & R-Truth – at the monumental 25th annual Survivor Series.

wwe wrestlemania 2012 detials

WrestleMania is a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event, produced annually in late March or early April by WWE, a professional wrestling promotion based in Connecticut. WWE first produced the event in 1985 to be its premiere annual event and has since produced twenty-seven editions with the twenty-eighth and twenty-ninth scheduled to take place in Miami Gardens, Florida in 2012 and East Rutherford, New Jersey in 2013.[1][2] WWE regards it as a flagship event due to it being the most successful and longest-running professional wrestling event in history. WrestleMania was conceptualized by WWE owner Vince McMahon.

WrestleMania's widespread success helped transform the professional wrestling industry and make WWE the most successful wrestling promotion in the world.[citation needed] The event has facilitated the rise to stardom of wrestlers including The Undertaker, Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Steve Austin, Triple H, The Rock, John Cena, and Batista. Celebrities such as Aretha Franklin, Cyndi Lauper, Muhammad Ali, Mr. T, Alice Cooper, Lawrence Taylor, Pamela Anderson, Mike Tyson, Donald Trump, Floyd Mayweather, Snoop Dogg and others have participated or made special appearances within the events.

WrestleMania propels the worldwide commercial success of the WWE through media, merchandise and shows. All of the events produced have been sold out within a short period of time, with recent editions being sold out within minutes of tickets going on sale. The first WrestleMania was held in Madison Square Garden in New York City; the 10th and 20th editions were also held there. WrestleMania III in Detroit was the highest-attended indoor sports event in the world, with 93,173 fans in attendance. The record stood until February 14, 2010, when the 2010 NBA All-Star Game broke the indoor sporting event record with an attendance of 108,713 at Cowboys Stadium.[3] All but the two editions held in Toronto, Canada have been hosted in U.S. cities.

WWE SUMMER SLAM 2011 AND EVER

WWE SUMMER SLAM EVER HISTORY:

SummerSlam is a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event, produced annually in August by professional wrestling promotion WWE. The inaugural SummerSlam took place on August 29, 1988 at Madison Square Garden in New York, New York and was broadcast via pay-per-view, unlike the Royal Rumble of that year which was broadcast as a television special on USA Network. Dubbed as "The Biggest Event of the Summer", the event is considered as one of the "Big Four" original pay-per-view events of WWE (along with WrestleMania, Royal Rumble and Survivor Series) and is regarded by WWE as their second biggest event of the year, after WrestleMania.

1 - SummerSlam 92: This was the first WWE PPV held outdoors and the first to take place outside of North America. The main event was a match for the Intercontinental Championship which saw the British Bulldog win the title from his brother in law, Bret Hart. That match won the Pro Wrestling Illustrated match of the year award.
2 – SummerSlam 02: The Nassau Coliseum crowd was into this card which featured incredible action from start to finish. The card saw the WWE PPV debut of Rey Mysterio, the return of Shawn Michaels after a five year hiatus, and the crowning of Brock Lesnar as the then-youngest WWE champion.

3 – SummerSlam 91: Amazingly, the main event of this card was not a wrestling match. The show ended with the wedding of the “Macho Man” and the late Miss Elizabeth. The card featured several memorable moments including Bret Hart’s first WWE singles title victory, the WWE PPV debut of Sid, and the Mountie spending a night in a NYC jail.

In the 1980s, Vince McMahon's World Wrestling Federation (WWF)'s main competition in the professional wrestling industry was from Jim Crockett Promotions (JCP). McMahon countered Jim Crockett's successful Starrcade pay-per-view, which began airing in 1983, by making the WrestleMania franchise. After WrestleMania III, the most successful professional wrestling pay-per-view event in history, McMahon made the Survivor Series franchise, which aired the same day as Starrcade '87 in November 1987. After defeating Crockett in the ratings, McMahon made the Royal Rumble, an event airing for free on the USA Network in January 1988, which set a ratings record for the network with eight million households tuning in to watch the event. In retaliation, Crockett made the Clash of the Champions event, which aired simultaneously with WrestleMania IV. WrestleMania IV garnered higher ratings, and not long after, Crockett filed for bankruptcy and sold his company to Ted Turner, who renamed it World Championship Wrestling (WCW).

As the WWF continued to replace its closed circuit programming with pay-per-view programming, McMahon added more pay-per-views to the lineup to capitalize on the success of his previous events. In addition to WrestleMania in March, the Royal Rumble in January, and Survivor Series in November, McMahon made an event for August, which he named SummerSlam. To keep the WWF from having a market monopoly, Turner began airing monthly WCW, and both companies began bringing in hundreds of millions of dollars of revenue. SummerSlam became one of World Wrestling Federation (later World Wrestling Entertainment, and eventually just WWE)'s most successful events and one of the "Big Four" pay-per-views, along with WrestleMania, Survivor Series, and the Royal Rumble. Those four events, along with King of the Ring, are known as the "Classic Five".

WWE Top 10 (ten) Matches

WWE Top 10 (ten) Matches

1. Submission Match: Bret Hart vs Steve Austin – WM 13

These men had been feuding for several months with Bret Hart as the face and Steve Austin as the heel. After this match, the roles of both men had become reversed. This was an incredibly brutal contest which saw Steve suffer a major cut at a time when bleeding was relatively unseen in World Wrestling Entertainment. Even though he lost, Steve Austin’s performance was so impressive that this match turned him into the number one star in the WWF.

2. I-C Title: Ricky Steamboat vs Randy Savage – WM 3

On the night that the main event featured the most anticipated match ever, these two men stole the show. This match is arguably the greatest match in the career of Randy Savage and without a doubt the best match that Ricky Steamboat had in the WWE. A few months prior to the match, Savage injured Steamboat’s throat by using the ring bell on it. Steamboat came out for revenge and figured the best way to get Savage back was to take his title.

3. Streak vs. Career: The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels – WM 26

After having a match that won my 2009 Match of the Year Award the year before, Shawn Michaels and the Undertaker had a WrestleMania rematch that more than lived up to its lofty expectations. Unlike the year before, there was more than just pride on the line. Shawn Michaels put his career on the line for the chance to be the man to finally end the Undertaker's undefeated streak. Unfortunately, Shawn lost and was forced to retire.  He can take solace in the fact that for the third year in a row, his match at WrestleMania won my Match of the Year Award.

4. WWF Title: Hulk Hogan vs Andre the Giant – WM 3

This was the most anticipated match in wrestling history. Over 90,000 fans packed the Pontiac Silverdome to witness this event and this match is generally considered one of the events that helped to create the PPV industry. The “undefeated” Andre the Giant almost won the match a few seconds into it. The match ended after Hulk Hogan body slammed Andre, a move that most fans had never believed was possible to do and has become the iconic moment in WrestleMania history.

5. Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker - WM 25

Unlike the prior four matches, this wasn't about a title or a personal vendetta. As a matter of fact, the two barely touched each other in the weeks leading up to the show. All this match featured was two of the all-time best putting on a match that lived up to the legacy of their Hell in a Cell battle back in 1997. Shawn Michaels lived up to his name of Mr. WrestleMania as one of his matches once again stole the show. As far as the Undertaker goes, he continued his winning ways at WrestleMania as he increased his undefeated WrestleMania winning streak to 17. In the process, these two future Hall of Famers put on the greatest non-title/non-stipulation match I have ever seen.

6. Career Threatening Match: Ric Flair vs Shawn Michaels – WM 24

The night before this show, Ric Flair was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. However, his celebration didn't last long because if he lost to Shawn then his career would be over. In a sport that usually does a bad job at ending careers with a fitting finale, this match provided the greatest ending to the career of arguably the greatest professional wrestler. The most famous moment of this match was the ending when Shawn mouthed the words: "I'm Sorry. I Love You." before ending the career of one of his idols.

7. WWF Title & I-C Title: The Ultimate Warrior vs Hulk Hogan – WM 6

This match was the first time in the Hulkamania era that Hulk Hogan lost a match cleanly. Both men entered and left the ring as fan favorites that day. This match was the passing of the torch from the era of Hulkamania to the era of the Ultimate Warrior. While the era of the Warrior didn’t last long, the memories of this match will live forever for anyone who saw this match when it happened.

8. I-C Title Ladder Match: Razor Ramon vs Shawn Michaels – WM 10

Very rarely can one say that a match changed the wrestling business but this one did just that. This ladder match was so entertaining that a whole new style of wrestling was created that has seen wrestlers take unbelievable risks with their bodies. The story of this match was that Shawn Michaels had been stripped of the Intercontinental Championship and Razor Ramon wound up winning the vacant title. Both men claimed to be the real champion and this match would determine who was right. Razor Ramon would go on to win this match to keep the title and end the controversy.

9. Retirement Match: The Ultimate Warrior vs Randy Savage – WM 7

The Warrior's reign as WWE Champion ended due to the interference of Randy Savage in his title match against Sgt. Slaughter at the Royal Rumble a few months earlier. Both men put their careers on the line in this match. This was a great match that saw both men's career in severe jeopardy. As great as this match was, the events that unfolded after this match were even better. After being apart for two years, Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth reunited.  Because of his forced retirement, Randy Savage had the time to marry to Miss Elizabeth at SummerSlam.

10. TLC Match: Edge & Christian vs The Dudley Boyz vs The Hardy Boyz - WM 17

This match represents an example of the creativity and risks that wrestlers started to take with a ladder that was spawned on by the match between Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon that was previously mentioned. These same teams fought the year before in just a ladder match. This match saw the addition of tables and chairs and each team had a person interfering for them in this match. Edge hitting the spear off the top rope on D-Von Dudley, who was dangling in midair, is the single most visually stunning move in the history of the event. Just like the prior year, Edge and Christian walked out of the match as World Tag Team Champions.

WWE Top 3 (Three) Matches

WWE Top 3 (three) Matches

WWE Top 3 (three) Matches Ever

1. The Rock vs Stone Cold WM 17 (Watch This Match)

This was the greatest WM match of all time in my opinion. Not only it's a brutal street fight between two of the greatest entertainers of all time, the ending where Stone Cold turned heel is also really shocking and unpredictable.

2. Bret Hart vs Stone Cold WM 13 Submission match  (Watch This Match)

This is a really classic Submission match. Not only it was brutal, it also elevates Stone Cold into main event status and made him a legend what he is known today.

3. The Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels WM 25 (Watch This Match)

Even though it is from WWE, it's really a classic between two legends who have way passed their prime. Despite that, they prove that age isn't matter and they prove it here as they can put on one of the greatest Wrestlemania matches of all time.

WWE Championship Triple Threat Steel Cage Match

WWE Championship Triple Threat Steel Cage Match

Extreme Rules WWE Championship 2011

The Miz must defend his WWE Championship against not one, but two of Raw’s top Superstars. Not only must the “Most Must-See WWE Champion” again contend with his WrestleMania opponent, John Cena, he must do so in a in a chaotic Triple Threat Steel Cage Match that also includes John Morrison.

Whichever Superstar is able to escape the cage or earn a victory via pinfall or submission will be declared the winner and WWE Champion. As The Miz has already pointed out, he does not need to be involved in the bout’s decision to lose his title.
